Overview
The HPE J9728A is a 1-rack-unit managed gigabit access switch engineered for enterprise campus, branch office or SMB wiring-closet deployments. It features 44 autosensing 10/100/1000 Mb/s RJ-45 ports and 4 dual-personality ports that can operate as either RJ-45 or SFP fibre connections, providing flexible connectivity options. The device supports advanced features including Layer 2 switching, static IP routing and RIP, IPv6 host mode, ACLs, sFlow and modular stacking support—making it suited for deployment where enterprise-level manageability and scalability are required. Its modular design allows upgrade paths via optional 10 GbE uplink modules and stacking modules, enabling network growth without replacing the base chassis.
