HPE J9822A Aruba 5412R zl2 Switch
Overview
The HPE J9822A is a modular chassis switch designed for IT infrastructure and network engineering teams deploying scalable campus aggregation or core-layer networks. It supports up to 12 open module slots and enables flexible port configurations—including combinations of autosensing 10/100/1000 Mb/s, SFP fibre, SFP+, multi-gig and 40 GbE line cards—making it suitable for high-density, high-performance environments. With a switching capacity of up to 1.92 Tb/s, low latency (as low as ~2.1 µs), and support for Virtual Switching Framework (VSF) stacking, it addresses mobile-first campus access with wireless aggregation and converged wired-wireless fabrics. The unit ships without power supplies or line modules; engineers must populate the chassis with appropriate modules and PSUs for their deployment needs. It is suitable for campus wiring-closet aggregation racks or data-centre edge roles within campus infrastructure.
