HPE JG726A FlexFabric 5930-32QSFP+ Switch
Overview
The HPE FlexFabric 5930-32QSFP+ is a high-performance, Layer 3 top-of-rack (ToR) switch engineered for the demanding environments of modern data centers and large enterprise networks. It directly addresses the need for high-density, low-latency 40GbE connectivity, making it an ideal solution for eliminating network bottlenecks at the server access or aggregation layer, particularly in spine-and-leaf architectural deployments. This switch provides a robust foundation for building scalable and resilient network fabrics. A key technical advantage of this platform is its hardware support for network virtualization using Virtual Extensible LAN (VXLAN). This feature is critical for multi-tenant cloud environments and software-defined networking (SDN) deployments, allowing for the creation of isolated, logical networks over a physical infrastructure. Combined with its ultra-low latency (under 1.5 µs for 10GbE) and cut-through switching, the device ensures wire-speed performance for east-west traffic patterns prevalent in virtualized and hyperconverged clusters. Designed for operational efficiency, the JG726A is housed in a compact 1U form factor and supports features like reversible airflow for flexible cooling management in hot-aisle/cold-aisle layouts. Management is streamlined through HPE’s Intelligent Resilient Framework (IRF) technology, which allows up to nine switches to be virtualized and managed as a single logical device. This simplifies network design and reduces administrative overhead via a unified command-line interface (CLI) or integration with HPE Intelligent Management Center (IMC).
