Overview
The HPE 816821-S01 is a 4 U rack-mount server aimed at mission-critical enterprise compute, virtualization clusters and large-scale database applications. It supports dual Intel Xeon E7-8880 v4 processors (22 cores at 2.2 GHz each) and is capable of scaling up to four sockets, giving infrastructure engineers a high-capacity compute foundation. The chassis accommodates up to 96 DIMM slots of DDR4 SmartMemory, enabling a maximum memory footprint of 6 TB, which addresses large in-memory workloads, analytics and enterprise consolidation. Storage and I/O flexibility are provided via up to ten small-form-factor drive bays, a Smart Array P830i controller with 12 Gb/s SAS support and nine PCIe Gen3 slots. Integrated management via HPE iLO and OneView ties this system into broader infrastructure and lifecycle operations, making it suitable for data-centre racks or mixed cloud-on-premises environments.
