APC AP9572 3 Phase 30A Rackmount Automatic Transfer Switch
Overview
The APC AP9572 is a 3-phase, 30A rack-mounted automatic transfer switch (ATS) designed to provide continuous power redundancy for critical IT infrastructure. Facilities engineers and IT teams deploy this device to ensure uninterrupted operation of servers, storage arrays, and network equipment during utility outages or maintenance events. The AP9572 automatically switches loads between two power sources, maintaining reliable power to sensitive electronics and minimizing downtime risk.
The switch supports 208/220/240V AC three-phase input and delivers a rated current of 30A per phase. Typical transfer time is under 8 milliseconds, providing near-instantaneous switching between utility or generator feeds to prevent disruption of connected equipment. Input and output connections utilize hardwired terminal blocks, and dry contact outputs allow integration with monitoring systems or centralized management platforms. Front-panel LED indicators provide real-time visibility into source selection, load status, and fault conditions.
Designed for standard 19-inch racks, the AP9572 occupies 3U of rack space. It is suitable for IDF closets, edge computing cabinets, and small-to-medium data center racks requiring dual-feed redundancy. The compact rackmount form factor allows installation alongside UPS units and PDUs while maintaining efficient use of cabinet space.
The ATS integrates with building management and IT monitoring systems via dry contacts, providing automated alerting and coordination during source transfers. It is compatible with APC and third-party PDUs, supporting dual utility or utility-to-generator feed configurations for both North American and international three-phase environments.
A typical deployment scenario includes a branch or remote office rack with dual incoming power feeds. The AP9572 automatically transfers the load to the secondary source during primary feed interruptions, ensuring servers, storage, and network devices remain operational.
This device is not suitable for single-phase-only deployments or applications exceeding 30A per phase. Installations requiring higher amperage, modular ATS expansion, or full building-level integration should use enterprise-class ATS solutions.
