Overview
The HPE 718160-B21 is a 2.5-inch small-form-factor (SFF) enterprise hard drive designed for deployment in HPE ProLiant servers and storage arrays. It delivers 1.2 TB of storage capacity at a spindle speed of 10,000 RPM and uses a dual-port SAS interface rated at 6 Gb/s, making it suitable for demanding environments such as transactional databases, virtualised server hosts and SAN/NAS storage tiers. In a typical deployment you might use this drive in a blade or rack server housing up to 24 such drives for a tier-1 application. It fits into HPE hot-plug drive bays (G1-G7 generation servers and appropriate storage enclosures) and is optimised for enterprise availability and serviceability.The dual-port SAS architecture allows connection via redundant paths to host controllers, improving fault tolerance and integration with HPE Smart Carrier trays.
