Overview
The HPE JL428A is a fixed-configuration gigabit Ethernet access switch designed for IT engineers deploying access layer infrastructure in wiring closets, small campuses or branch network racks. It provides 48 autosensing 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ-45 ports to deliver full-gigabit connectivity to desktops, access points, IP phones and other edge devices. The switch supports a compact 1U rack form factor and integrates into standard 19-inch rack environments or shelf-mount installations. Its unmanaged or basic managed operation (depending on variant) simplifies deployment while enabling reliable connectivity for wired endpoints. It is suitable for general-purpose enterprise edge, small-office or branch deployments where dense port count and straightforward setup are priorities. Network management may be via web GUI or SNMP for visibility into link status and basic statistics.
