Overview
The HPE AJ718A is a hot-plug SFP+ optical module designed for fibre-channel SAN environments. Infrastructure engineers use it to upgrade or maintain FC fabric links at 8 Gb/s while retaining the existing multimode fibre infrastructure. It supports 850 nm wavelength over dual LC duplex connectors and is suited for short-wave applications up to approximately 300 meters on OM3 multimode fibre, or extending farther on OM4 fibre. This transceiver module is compatible with enterprise switches and storage arrays requiring an 8 Gb Fibre Channel short-wave (SW) SFP+ form factor and can be managed via diagnostics for signal quality and link health. It fits in server, storage or SAN switch SFP+ cages and integrates with remote monitoring tools for SAN administration.
