HPE JH146A FlexNetwork 5510 48G 4SFP+ HI Switch
Overview
The HPE JH146A is a Layer 3 managed switch from the FlexNetwork 5510 HI series, engineered for the access and aggregation layers of medium to large enterprise campus networks and data centers. It addresses the need for resilient, secure, and high-performance connectivity by providing 48 Gigabit Ethernet ports alongside four 10GbE SFP+ uplinks, facilitating high-speed connections to the network core or storage area networks and eliminating traffic bottlenecks. This switch incorporates Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s Intelligent Resilient Fabric (IRF) technology, which allows up to nine physical switches to be virtualized and managed as a single logical device. This simplifies network design and management, enhances resiliency with sub-second failover, and enables load balancing across the stacked units. The hardware supports robust Layer 3 routing protocols, including OSPF and BGP, making it a versatile solution for complex network segmentation and routing requirements. Designed for rack-mounted deployment in a standard 1U form factor, the JH146A is built for operational resilience with support for dual, redundant power supplies (sold separately). Management is highly flexible, offering a full command-line interface (CLI), a web-based GUI, and support for HPE’s Intelligent Management Center (IMC) software. This provides a single-pane-of-glass view for comprehensive network monitoring and administration.
