Overview
The HPE JG914A is a 48-port gigabit smart-managed switch designed for small-to-medium business networking environments that require greater control than unmanaged switches but without full enterprise complexity. Engineers use it to deploy high-density access switching with full 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ-45 connectivity and built-in Layer 2 features such as VLANs, link aggregation, QoS and IGMP snooping, which help optimise multi-device traffic and segmentation. It supports switching throughput up to 71.4 Mpps and a switching capacity of 96 Gb/s, making it suited for wiring-closet access layers or edge network racks. It fits standard 19-inch racks (1U height) and can also be wall mounted, making it practical for branch offices or campus access zones where cost-effective performance and manageability matter.
