Overview

The HPE JH650A is a 1-Gigabit small-form-factor pluggable (SFP) copper transceiver module designed for use in enterprise switches, routers or network devices that include SFP slots. It supports the 1000Base-T standard over twisted-pair RJ-45 cabling and is rated for typical reach up to ~100 m over quality copper cabling. You’d commonly deploy this in wiring-closet uplinks or between racks when fibre is overkill or existing Cat5e/Cat6 wiring is available. It fits into the SFP cage of HPE/Aruba gear and provides a cost-effective way to reuse copper runs rather than deploying fibre.
