HPE JL437A – 10 Gigabit SFP+ Short-Reach Transceiver (MMF)
Overview
The HPE JL437A is a 10-Gigabit small-form-factor pluggable plus (SFP+) optical transceiver module for short-reach multimode-fibre (MMF) connectivity. It uses an 850 nm wavelength and supports distances up to around 300 metres on OM3/OM4 multimode fibre under standard conditions. This makes it well suited for data-centre top-of-rack (ToR) or aggregation-layer uplinks in HPE/Aruba environments where 10 Gb links run over MMF trunks. You drop it into a SFP+ slot in a switch or router, plug in duplex LC multimode fibre, and you’ve got a 10 Gb link without needing single-mode fibre or long-haul optics. This module is ideal for server-to-switch, switch-to-switch or fibre trunk runs inside racks or between adjacent racks/floors in a data centre.
Key Features
-
10 Gbps data rate over a standard SFP+ form-factor, enabling high-bandwidth optical uplinks.
-
850 nm wavelength for multimode fibre (MMF) deployment—supports short-reach fibre runs without requiring single-mode fibre.
-
Duplex LC connector interface, widely supported in enterprise optical gear, making installation and spares handling straightforward.
-
Compatible with HPE/Aruba switching platforms that have 10 G SFP+ ports—ensures plug-and-play with the HPE optical ecosystem.
