Overview
The HPE JD093A is a 10 Gigabit SFP+ optical transceiver module designed for enterprise network fibre links where you need high-throughput connectivity but the distances don’t justify longer-reach modules. It uses a 1310 nm wavelength over multimode fibre (MMF) and is rated for around 200 metres reach in typical OM3/OM4 fibre (depending on fibre quality and channel conditions). You’d deploy this module in a 10G SFP+ port on an HPE/Aruba switch or router to connect between racks, wiring-closet fibre trunks or short campus spans. It avoids the cost of single-mode optics while giving you high bandwidth and keeps the link budget practical for many data-centre or campus fibre runs.
