Overview
The HPE JL356A is a 1-rack-unit access switch designed for enterprise edge deployments such as campus floors, branch offices or IoT-dense zones. It supports 24 × 10/100/1000 Mb/s PoE+ ports and 4 × 1/10 Gb SFP+ uplinks, enabling both device power delivery and high-speed back-haul connectivity. With built-in static/RIP routing support, IPv6 host features, and cloud-ready management via Aruba Central, it suits scenarios where consolidation, remote-site deployment or unified wired-wireless policy enforcement are required. The PoE+ variant delivers up to approximately 370 W total port power budget, making it capable of powering access points, IP cameras and other PoE endpoints alongside standard switching functions.
It is sized for standard 19″ racks, with 1U height and front-access ports, facilitating structured-cabinet installation in enterprise wiring closets.
The JL356A integrates into HPE/Aruba switch infrastructures and can operate alongside other 2540-series models under the same management domain.
