Overview
The HPE J9990A is a mezzanine module designed for the Aruba 5400R zl2 switch series, providing both high-density powered copper access ports and high-speed SFP+ uplinks in a single module. Network engineers deploy it when they need to deliver PoE+ to edge devices while maintaining secure and high-bandwidth uplinks back to the core. It offers 20 10/100/1000 BASE-T PoE+ ports alongside 4 1G/10Gb SFP+ ports with built-in MACsec v3 encryption, making it suitable for converged campus access, branch aggregation or secure wiring-closet deployments. The module integrates into the host chassis form-factor, enabling upgrade without replacing the entire switch platform.
